Interesting article, Johnathan. I shall check over my coins to see if any further examples come to light. It might also be worth looking at whether or not the mark appears on any class 10 reverses on muled specimens. Already on the last example you illustrated the mark above the V occurs on a 9c reverse.

Thanks for your comments : have looked at my IXc reverse and it doesn’t have the wedge mark.
