In a Research Blog article of 30/11/2022 the early Unusual types of the Florin coinage of Edward III were investigated with particular reference to the lettering of types A and C. In the short time since this article was posted important new information has been obtained by the author. The latest developments are discussed in this short note. It is recommended that the original article is read first.

Please note Coin 1 in Article 2 was illustrated as fig.3 in the original article not fig.2.
Thanks for spotting that, Duncan. I had originally shown my better coin as Coin 1. I then decided to change to another coin of mine which more clearly showed the little die flaws below the right hand hair. Unfortunately I forgot to alter the text.
